The Hull Youth Enterprise Partnership heard about the Skills Pledge through our social media presence and it seemed sensible the them as supporters of enterprising young people to get involved the best they could to raise the profile of enterprise skills. They particularly see the benefit in attracting mentors who maybe able to help some of their enterprising young people as well as introducing them to other mentors.
Looking at the wider benefits, they beleive it’s a way that we can all come together to invest in the future and to ensure that no young person is left behind when the Humber area develops new opportunities – it's about growing our own skilled workforce and entrepreneurs to complement those that are coming to work and invest in the area – in other words a win:win.
With all such campaigns there are advantages and disadvantages for getting involved but Hull Youth Enterprise Partnership only sees advantages noting that "Young people are our future and we need to do more to enable a succession plan of creating, developing and offering opportunities to young people to show how enterprising they are."
The Hull Youth Enterprise Partnership is an informal public/private/community partnership set up to influence major partners in supporting Hull's enterprising young people. It is committed to the shared vision of growing the city's economy for the benefit of young people and facilitating opportunities to widen the entrepreneurial spirit in the city.
